Purpose of NMI:

  • To mobilize the church in mission through prayer, education, giving, and interactive experience
  • To encourage people to pray for all efforts of world evangelization
  • To inform people of the worlds needs and what the church is doing to meet those needs
  • To challenge children and youth to learn about and participate in the mission of the church
  • To raise funds for mission outreach

Special Programs:

  • World Evangelism Fund: Helps pay missionaries and keep the Church of the Nazarene operating around the world
  • Alabaster: provides mission buildings and land around the world
  • Medical Plan: provides medical insurance and health care
  • L.I.N.K.S. (Loving Interested Nazarenes Knowing and Sharing): unites the missionary family with Nazarenes worldwide
  • World Mission Radio: allows the gospel to be sent around the world—many times where missionaries are not permitted
  • Nazarene Compassionate Ministries: provides for people who are in need and cares for victims of disasters—example: Crisis Care Kits that were packed and sent to victims of Hurricane Katrina

Prayer Involvement:

  • International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church
  • Prayer and Fasting for missions
  • Prayer requests from the Prayer Mobilization Line

Personal Involvement on the mission field:

  • Work & Witness Teams
  • Volunteers in Missions
